The motif brings the legend of St. Barbara into a contemporary interior. The segmented beam of light cast by the window recalls the “third window” Barbara opened in her tower — a restrained, modern reference to an act of defiance.

The choice of the paper-cut technique is directly tied to the work’s meaning: by cutting the forms out of the sheet, the image becomes “opened”, mirroring Barbara’s gesture in a formal way. An everyday moment turns into a quiet metaphor for resistance, agency, and light.
